Paul Daugerdas's professional career took off at Arthur Andersen & Co., where he began as a staff member and ascended to a managerial position before becoming a partner in 1984. His tenure at the firm from 1974 to 1994 saw him deeply involved in various capacities, including as a member of the Mergers, Acquisitions & Reorganizations Tax Specialty Team and as the Head of the Central Region Financial Markets Team. He also led the Chicago Office "On Call" Team and was part of the Financial Valuation Services Specialty Team.

In 1994, Daugerdas transitioned to the Law Offices of Altheimer & Gray as a partner, where he led the Tax Department and served on the Steering Committee. From 1999 to 2002, he was a Shareholder/Partner at the Law Offices of Jenkens & Gilchrist, managing the Chicago office and co-directing the Tax Practice. His business acumen was further showcased as a member of the Management Advisory Committee during his tenure at Jenkens & Gilchrist.
